Welcoming New Businesses

22 Jan

SHOP LOCAL – for Honeoye Falls / Mendon / Lima – it means helping your neighbor.  It’s not just a saying but a way of life style here. Not only do we promote each other as businesses – we are all friends and acquaintances. Very much “Smalltown USA”… we all know each other by first name.

A very unique owner – young Bradley Miller. A resent graduate from HF-L, his business sense is way beyond his years! Ahead of the game on social media advertising, Bradley has taken the aging lanes into the present time, teaming up with other local businesses to offer fun entertainment for the family as well as the adults. Located at 126 W. Main St, Honeoye Falls, right next to Dipper Dan’s. Give them a call at 585 624-2990 – or better yet, stop in for a beer (full bar available) and a lane!

Opening last fall, Scott and Dana brew one batch at a time of Vodka, Gin and Moonshine using locally grown malts and ryes – and I mean grown literally right in their back yard. Colonial Liquor carries their “brew” and you can enjoy a cocktail locally at The Rabbit Room, Flaherty’s, Fanatics, The Brewery, Cosmos, The Cottage Hotel, Upper Deck, American Hotel – and yes, Miller Lanes! They also have their own tasting room, the Farmacy, which they affectionately call their “craft speakeasy”. The Farmacy offers a rotating menu of “properly constructed classics and innovative creations with culinary focus.” – that is straight from their website. Their cocktail menu is unique in that it insists on purely New York State ingredients. A special Honeoye Falls experience right here on Main Street! Located at 168 West Main Street – 585 624-1700

One day it was there, the next there was a sign “CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS” – Leaving us all wondering, “what do I feed the kids after practice”???? No worries, Joe Ruck will soon be opening Rucks Pizza Kitchen next to Colonial Liquor. With his other location in Lima, Joe offers the best homemade pizzas in the area. Just as before, you can go in for a huge slice of delicious, gooey pizza as well as wings, subs, salads and entrees. Keep an eye out for the grand opening celebration.

Its not often one business goes out of their way to promote other businesses in the area. Even rarer when it’s businesses who compete on some level for the same dollars. I’ll look up all these business the next time we venture to Honeoye Falls.
